An early goal from Chris H looked like it was going to set us up for an easy win, but we made heavy weather of it. Despite lots of posession and several good chances we went in to half time 1-0.
They came out attacking in the second half and nearly broke through a couple of times before finally putting one in the net. Alex finished off an excellent interchange with Chris M to take us into the lead again very quickly. We settled and kept posession but still failed to increase our score before they broke and curled one into the corner leaving our stand-in keeper Clive no chance. We quickly took the lead again with a bizarre own goal, one of their defenders lobbing the keeper while trying to clear his lines. We suffered a couple of squeaky-bum moments, most notably Clive looking on while the ball slowly rolled onto the post, but right at the end Alex again finished with finess after a neat flick-on from Chris M.
A slightly lacklustre performance, but we got the points.
