We out-passed them for the entire game, creating quite a few opportunities without any 'sitters'. In the first half we had several 2-on-1 situations, none of which were converted.
As the game wore on we totally dominated posession, but it looked like it was destined to be 0-0. When we were awarded a fee kick just outside the D Gary smacked it into the top corner. After that we had a few good shots, one of which from Chris Mills clipped the post. Chris was through on goal when one of their players brought him down from behind; no chance of getting the ball, no intention of getting the ball, two footed and on the ground. This was the very epitome of a straight red card yet the ref just talked to him and let him join the wall. 2 minutes later he was upfield and worked his way through 2 defenders before slipping it under Merv into the net.
A travesty of a result in the end, but it shouldn't detract from a good performance from everyone on the team.

We looked more solid with the 3-1-1.Whilst we clearly deserved to win , I'm afraid however we only have ourselves to blame. Consider how many goals have been conceded this season due in the main to us over- commiting men forward and the opposing team breaks up the play and counter-attacks. Most of them I would suggest !

In my opinion, we are at our best when we move the ball about quickly and in turn pull the opposition around. This creates space and allows us to utilise the full width of the pitch. Unfortunately over the last few weeks there are too many occassions when we forget this principle and play breaks down.

If we'd have kept the ball in the last few minutes and kept it moving instead of "hogging" the ball, we would have won.

On saying this, for the most part, we played well. We must continue doing the simple things and keep our shape. If we do there aren't many in this league who can match us.

First well played on Tuesday, Ant you had one of your best games I’ve seen you play and Gary had possibly the best game he’d ever played and he scored which puts him level with Shaggy for the season.

I’d have taken a draw before we started but that said we were the dominant team and the late goal means 2 points dropped rather than 1 gained. What really sickens is that even when they scored they never looked capable of getting a goal never mind forcing a draw.
I think we all need to take a good look at ourselves and think what as individuals did we do different in the last 3 or 4 mins of the game, learn from that and push on.
