A bit of a lacklustre performance this week, especially in the first half. Galacticos are not a great side, and make Wimbledon look like Brazil. We spent more time retrieving the ball from the car park and other pitches than kicking it.
We had all the posession but they packed central defence making the final third difficult to penetrate. They scored with a deflected shot early. They scored a second goal against the run of play before Alex set up Chris H to drive low into the corner. We again pressed and were unfortunate not to equalise, but a dipping speculative shot into our goal saw them go into half time at 3-1.
We started the second half much better and some good work between Ant, Gary and Chris M gave an opportunity for Alex to make a smart finish after still having a lot to do. Alex made a fantastic run later, took the ball wide of the keeper and smashed the ball in from a narrowing angle, only for the ref to blow up incorrectly for a foot in the area. We pressed on, sometimes leaving gaps and Barry made a couple of fine saves to keep us in contention, Ant and Gary mostly keeping their striker quiet. Chris H pounced onto a loose ball, saw the keeper of his line and executed a delicate lob over him to bring the scores level. We still pressed for a winner but it didn't come. They had a goal disallowed (luckily for us) right at the end, but that is the second game in a row we have failed to kill off.

Well this game was a queer one but regardless of things a draw was a good result on the night, although we were slow to start and seemed stunned including myself at their first goal you showed great strength to come back from 2 goals down to get a point.
