We played some excellent football in this game, usually with Alex at the centre of it! In the first half we created a massive number of chances and had many goalbound efforts from Anthony, Alex, Chris H and Chris M, saved by their keeper who kept them in the game.
A deflected shot (probably their only one of the first half) saw them 1-0 up at half time completely against the run of play.
The second half was slightly more even, though we were still well on top and their keeper had to make many saves. Again against the run of play they ended up with 2 on 1 against Longbaldie and scored to make it 2-0 with a good finish.
We pressed harder and Alex latched onto a corner from Chris M to bring us back into the game. Alex set up Chris H to equalise with a few minutes to go. We could have won it in the end, but failed to convert a couple more chances.
Nice game to play in, shame we drew.

Well for those of you who weren’t there – WHAT A CRACKING GAME – even the ref said it was the best game he’d refereed this year.

Stand out performances from all (especially Gills keeper) watch out Cat there could be a transfer before the window closes.

Special mention to Ant who came in for the man flue afflicted goal machine RSP and played a blinder including a missile of a shot they the Gills keeper somehow kept out.

The number of times I thought we’d scored only for a hand, foot or something kept the ball out I lost count. 2 nil down at half time after soft/lucky goals against us but the work and ambition won through in the end. Well done all for not quitting and getting the job done.
