Match Report
Terrific game. The first 10 minutes was fairly even, but after that the Sarum Knights took control of the game, out-passing the higher placed team and the final score didn't flatter us. The first goal had been looking likely for some time, but it was worth the wait. A well worked move down the left flank ended when Clive slipped a sublime ball to Steve P to finish in a cool manner. After the break there were several chances we could have put away. On one of those occasions the goalie blocked a shot from Steve P and the ball rebounded to Chris M who calmly sidefooted the ball into the goal. Cheetahs lost shape totally and we played the ball around not letting them get a kick. They showed their frustration with a number of heavy tackles. The space available allowed Steve N to have a couple of rare breaks upfield and from one of those he calmly pulled the ball inside the advancing keeper and slotted the ball into the net. A great performance.

As a proven goal scorer now, any chance of playing up front next game?
In case you are wondering that's my comment above. In light of some magnificent long passes by Gary last night, maybe we can re-nickname him Longballdi?
For once the RAC have nothing to say other than congratulations!
The Grumpy Old Men were organised, sharp, good to watch & effective the tactics were spot on "well done Bungle Mourinho".
The Cheetas must have felt they were back in the zoo watching the world passing by in front of their cage.
Don't want to single anyone out in such a great team performance but the RAC want to commend Shaggy who provided real bite in attack completly unsettling them but also worked so hard to defend from the front that he wrecked any rythem & shape they tried to get, they were the one's shouting Scooby Doo where are you. In the second half they paid him the best compliment of all by changing their shape and pulling their quickest player out of midfield to try and deal with him. This more than anything made the second half easier for us as Trumpton was left with space and time to run the game from midfield, great opening goal to.
Finally some moments to savour - ABBA's sublime cushioned return pass to set up Trumptons goal. Trumpton getting all hand bags with the ref. Bungle who patroled the touchline kicking every ball and making every tackle (for once). And finally Steve Nic our very own racing split pin what else can the RAC say except GOOOOOAAAAAL, no longer is he the owner of the Golden Clog.
Congratulations one and all but the next match is a clean sheet of paper.
Did Longbaldie play last night? The RAC missed him
Iain, have you ever thought of a career in Sports journalism ?
Apparently, the Daily Star have a vacancy. You would fit in well for I don't understand most of what they write either !
To high brow for you then
I must say Iain (Malcolm Allison) is certainly very well versed on the Scooby Doo characters isn't he?, does he just sit at home all day and watch this type of programme? I thought the game was excellent and I think it is the best we have played since I joined this illustrious club and it was finished off nicely with a chilli at Steve's (thanks Steve). My highlights were Steve "I will turn you inside out like a pair of Gary's Gay friend's pants" Nicholson on his excellent solo effort and also Gary's excellent long range passes and of course not forgetting clive's pass and my goal! I must admit though I am still nursing a dead leg and bruised knees!
I would just like to add that Gary Nield owes a whopping £15 subs lads! Clearly this is not acceptable and totally irresponsible, hence I believe he should be fined a weeks wages!
Consider his wages docked. I'll pay him 50% less next week.
If you add up what you lot owe and look at the accounts page, I'm -£75 and only owed £40, so I'm still £35 down. Maybe Iain's idea about fining people for shooting over the bar is a good one. Hang on, that would still mean than it would be me paying it. Maybe I should auction my dungarees on eBay.
I have just re-read Bungle's commenatry on the game; a rare break up field by Steve Nic ........ rare, I don't think so, I hardly ever saw him !

Must keep encouraging Steve to make these runs as they are so effective. We expect a goal every game now of course.
