We outplayed them totally, hitting the post within seconds of the start, but it was one of those games. We had so many chances which were not converted we should have had 5 goals in the first half. As it was, they broke away and scored with their only attack of the first half. The second half continued in similar vein until Chris M levelled the scores midway through the half. Near to the end Chris H made it 2-1 to us and we threatened to increase the gap. At the very end a disastrous backpass by Chris H left their striker free to score right in the dying seconds.
I must admit I was gutted with the result at the end of this game. Like Chris said we outplayed the opposition, however I thought our finishing was dismal by all (including me)! I think we need to be alot more clinical in front of goal in the future and be more confident with our own ability. I thought GARYBALDI looked alot fitter last night and it is good to have him back to full fitness. I think from now and to the end of the season we cannot let Iain go anywhere, as every time he is away, we have a poor result. However it was good to see a few smiling faces at the pub last night, however I think that was more to do with Gary telling us stories about going to gay bars in Blackpool!
Bad news for me I'm afraid. Just been to see nurse I.Candy about my rib. After giving my chest a really close examination (though I'm not sure why she did the coughing bit) she told me I can't play footie for about 6 weeks. The rib is either cracked or bruised; it wasn't necessary to do an xray because the treatemnt and rest period is the same.
<--- New menu item. Pictures.
Just to say Chris, the photo is excellent! We even look quite professional!
I heard all about the chat down the Pub and how Steve P is dying to come out of the closet. Apparently Gary showed everyone at work the Sarum Knights team and Mark (the resident Gay) has cut and pasted the photo and now has Steve as his screen saver ! He said he wouldn't mind meeting him up his alley !!
Sorry to hear about Chris H.. a big loss to the team at a crucial stage of the season. We'll have to re-think our strategy.
As for Iain...well it couldn't be worse, dropped points in his absence...can't wait !!
Interesting looking at the photograph. Do you think that Steve N and Gary would be fighting at the same weight if they were boxing !
Ta for now.
MORE NEEDLESS DROPPED POINTS - And Bumble goes & claims a cracked rib just for the sympathy vote & a rub down by the resident male nurse, what goes on when the RAC (Rent a Crowd) is away - we are not amused.
On a serious note there are times when a game is dominated by one team and somehow they manage to lose, sounds like the team played well as a team and created loads so probably not to bad in the scheam of things.
Get well quickly Bumble.
Bungle, actually!
Hi Geoffrey - have you seen our strips!! I thought Bumble (Bee) might be appropriate but if you insist on Bungle I'll bow to your superior knowlage
