We started brightly and kept the ball really well. Steve S opened the scoring with a curling shot into the top corner on around 5 minutes. A great move down the right saw Steve N get free, draw the keeper and slide the ball inside to Chris M to knock in from the edge of the area. We were still dominant, but they scored a well taken goal to bring it to 2-1. Steve N then played a ball into Chris H's feet who turned and fired across the goalkeeper and in off the far post. A minute later Chris H picked the ball up in our half, drove through the middle and fired a shot which had the keeper beaten but this time hit the outside of the post. Chris M also created a terrific chance which hit the bar.
In the second half they were more up for the game and the challenges were coming in harder, many illegal but the ref was unitenerested in much of what was going on. They scored with a driven shot after a fortunate run of the ball through Steve N's legs. We were being more defensive now and although Barry didn't have to make too many saves we were playing very deep. One of their guys came straight through with a knee on Chris H leaving him in a heap and went through to level the score.
Chris H later took revenge with an apalling challenge on one of their players which took him off the field for most of the remaining few minutes. We had two or three chances to take the game, but it finished 3-3.
