A very thorough performance this evening from the boys in Yellow. Another 'youthful' starting line up with and experienced bench led us into the game hoping to maintain our unbeaten run this season.
We played some nice neat football from the off and it was within the first few minutes that we found ourselves one-up following a series of neat passes and a tidy close range finish from Chris M. It was 2-0 a few minutes later when Chris M put in another from close range much like the first. Momentum was on our side and we were solid at the back. Any attack they had was from their start player; whose attempts on gone were snubbed out by George.
Mike scored a screamer from range, cutting in onto his right foot and lashing a true strike into the top left corner. Alex put in a fourth and we went into the break 4-0 up and they were demoralised.
At the start of the second half we had a funny 5 minutes of trying to force the long ball and allowed them to have a series of shots on goal, but none which troubled Ed. Chris M made it 5-0 and 6-0 with 10 minutes to go. Alex attempted to chip the goalkeeper around 6 times this evening, but I think he needs a bit more practice...
Tom scored us a 7th before towards the end of a game with a tactical sub being made to give Steve N a run around. Unfortunately they did put the ball in the net with a few minutes to spare. We could and should have put more away in this game. They weren't the team they used to be.
