A record crowd gathered to watch the eagerly awaited clash between Sarum Knights and (joint) top of the table Phoenix Fire.
Sarum made a good start, enjoying some early possession when they took the lead after good work down the left from Tom, who cut the ball back across the D for Josh to fire home emphatically on the half volley. Phoenix pressed either side of half time and had more of the possession but were restricted to half chances and thwarted by a couple of excellent saves from Ed. However early in the second half they equalised in controversial fashion when the ball was scrambled home after a foul on George in front of goal.
Phoenix pressed but to no avail with Sarum looking sharp on the counter and creating the better chances, before Ashley coolly finished as full time approached. Sarum worked tirelessly throughout and held onto what was probably a well deserved win.
