Good result against the top side Phil Babb. The first 5 minutes looked like we would get tonked, but we weathered the storm and restricted them to half-chances. Barry made some fine saves and Chris M did a sterling job in defence. They scored a good goal just before half time, after which we changed to a slightly more attacking line. Gary held tha ball up really well up front, and Josh worked hard and did a great job in marking their best player and kept him quieter in the second half. Steve Nic and Chris H worked up the channels and George played a superb game with some really excellent strong tackling. Midway through the half Gary scrapped for a ball outside the D and the ball came across to Josh right on the edge of the box, who neatly finished into the corner. At the finish they tried to up their game, but so did we and came closest to scoring when Steve shot low towards the left corner but the goalie tipped it onto the post. Good result, probably deserved.

What about the throw-in from the "nic" to set up Josh....he will be upset as this was an assist!

...it's a good job he's not in a fanatsy league...or perhaps we are at our age!!!
