A good game against our nearest rivals, characterised by 2 goals from Shaggy who is becoming unstoppable and Steve N continuing his comeback. Good first few minutes but then they had the edge for the rest of the first half and it needed some good stops from Ed to keep it level. We defended well though, restricting them to range. We had a few attacks though no clear chances and Chris H scored after some neat footwork just before half time to give us an edge.
We played better in the second half, Mike putting in a great shift in central defence and Steve P and Ashley working tirelessly in the middle. It was slightly against the run of play when they scored from a penalty after an area transgression and they stepped up their game to try to win it. This left space at the back and Shaggy scored an unlikely goal with telescopic legs when he lookedd definitely second favourite to reach it. He added to the tally a few minutes later, tackling back in his own half and running the nearly length of the field to smash in a great finish. A good win which consolidates our current second place.
