Match Report

Another slightly subdued game in the warm weather for the early kick-off. The game had relatively few chances in the early exchanges with both defences being quite solid. Midway into the half their main attacker outpaced Chris H across the edge of the box and found room to power a good shot across Barry for a goal. Barry had to make a good save a little later to keep us in the game. Shortly beofre the half time whistle we were given a free-kick a few yards outside the area which Gary powered into the top left corner with a sweet left footed shot.
At this point they started to get bolshy with the referee and playing generally dirty. One of their guys got a 4-minute blue card during which time we pressed on and had a couple of good chances which went unconverted. We had much the better of the second half but didn't test the keeper enough with the sun in his eyes.
Overall a bit of a bad tempered and unpleasant game from a bunch of miserable gits. Galacticos were even worse!

RE Tuesday: I was pleased with the way we performed against a fully committed and nasty bunch of gits; we kept our composure while they pretty much lost the plot and became dirty. Personally I think this was a testament to the way you pretty much outplayed them, on the night we were definitely the better team and a draw flattered them, we could well have won but given the lack of space and clear chances it was always going to be difficult. I reckon their lack of attacking options and other teams improving and knowing what to expect of them will cost and they will draw or loose games so I doubt they will finish above us.

Moments to savor – Longballdie’s Goal and the look on their faces, The Cats 1st half save to stop them going 2 up, Trumpton getting stuck into anything that moved, the guy lying on the Div 3 pitch clutching his face after Alex had tried to knock his nose off, the smile on Bungle’s face when the blond wally started screaming at the ref throwing all his toys after Bungle knocked him onto his backside halfway into the div 1 pitch, RSP getting groined and we all instinctively checked our own tackle letting out a long slow breath in mock sympathy, Shaggy getting up after a horrible knee high tackle and carrying on like nothing had happened after the guy got blue carded.

Man of the match – Longballdie, great goal, could have had another if he hadn’t been so high up the pitch his

I've just read the match commentary. Gary scored in the bottom corner and the free kick was half way between their area and the half way line .................now you know why I don't want to write the match commentaries because I can never remember either !
