Probably the best win of the season, though not necessarily our most polished performance. Inter again were fast and showed good skill. We came out the better side in the first few minutes and probably deserved the lead after a fine headed goal by Chris M from a Steve N corner. Steve N had threatened to continue his fine goalscoring form prior to the goal after great runs into promising positions. A good stop by the keeper and a narrow miss prevented that. In the last 10 minutes of the first half Inter rallied and outplayed us, going close numerous times but kept out with good last ditch tackles from Steve P and Gary and several fine saves by Barry. They equalised with a superb strike which was followed by a move down the left from which they scored just before half time from a narrow angle.
The second half saw a more even contest, though much of the play was in our half. Both sides got a little niggly though nothing dirty. About 10 minutes into the second half Steve P played a throughball which found its way the Chris H who turned and stroked the ball past the keeper on the near side. Shortly after Chris M was played in with a ball over the top and he did really well to hold off the defender and drill the into the net. We kept them to a minimum of chances in the 4 remaining minutes to win a hard-faught game.
