This was an enjoyable game which we unfortunately lost. They are a very fit side and it seemed like we were playing against 6 outfield players half the time!
They came out of the blocks quickly and we knew we were in a game. We regrouped and started having good posession althouh neither side creayed chances; Steve P  and Paul held firm at the back and subdued the big guy who caused us so much trouble last time.
They went in front with a slightly lucky break as a bobbling ball fell to their attacker who struck a bobbly shot which fortunately for them bobbled under Barry. We got back in the game a few minutes later when a ball bobbled from one of their players onto Steve N where it bobbled to Chris H who drilled a clean strike into the corner. We enjoyed a spell of more posession and we had a few half chances and a Steve N made a great run into space and was unlucky to clip the outside of the post after shooting across the keeper. Paul and Steve P made a few overlaps and Barry made a couple of fine saves in a very close game.
The second half saw them getting the upper hand as their superior fitness showed. With around 10 minutes to go an innocuous ball was clipped forward and Paul chested it back but moved backwards into the area and the ref very harshly gave a penalty which the big guy scored from.
As usual Chris M worked tirelessly up front but they frequently doubled up on him and they were also very quick in the tackle. Paul and Steve P stopped them creating clear chances and Barry again made important stops while we tried to create an opening to level.
As we pushed up they scored with the last kick of the game.
A good natured game, Gills just shaded it but the penalty spoiled the game as a spectacle for the fan, his dog, The Boss and Mini Me.
