Sarum lined up in the now familiar 2-2-1 formation with Barry in goal, Gary and Steve P at the back, Chris H and Steve N in the middle and Chris M up front. Hard fought first half saw both defences on top and there were few clear chances for either side. Sarum had the better of the play but a minute before half time a Chaseside striker was left unmarked, he was found with a long ball and took his chance well to put Chaseside ahead at half time.

In the second half there was more space and both sides had more chances. Mid way through the half Chris H played in Chris M to score from a tight angle. With 10 minutes to go Sarum were playing the better football but Chaseside always looked dangerous on the break and Barry pulled off some great saves to keep it to 1-1. With a few minutes left Steve P found the space to hit a screamer from at least 60 yards which hit the inside of the post and somehow stayed out. Chaseside went down the other end and worked an opportunity on the edge of the box which was half mis-hit into the corner. 3 minutes left and no way back.

Very solid performance with lots of possession. Chaseside work very hard defensively and chances were limited. Deserved at least a draw.

Everyone played well, the defence looks solid, Barry was imposing, the defensive contribution from Chris H gets better every week, and Chris M is starting to hold the ball up and bring the rest of the team into play like an old pro.
