After a period of reflection whilst training at altitude for the next important episode of Sarum Knights' season I am posting my views of the game against Tuesday Knights.
No matter how much I try, the one abiding moment for me was "the Nic" frozen in time on the edge of the opposition box. Caught like a rabbit in the headlights. Slowly and deliberatly for what seemed like an age he shaped his body to steer the ball past the keeper into the bottom corner. Alas, the keeper managed to get in the way and diverted the ball onto the post and out of play. Unlucky
Good positioning actually with "the Nic " being unlucky to find himself square onto the keeper. His new midfield role is certainly suiting his game and I can see him threatening the top scorers in the team.
I suppose I shouldn't overlook Clive, who thought he would demonstrate that it is not only Lombaldi who can get stroppy ! Chin up Clive. You know how horny you get when you kiss and make up !
It was good to hear the ginger wilderbeast once again being so committed with his encouragement resonating across the pitch. I have to say he does a stirling job each week even if he is operating by satellite delay now that he has to camp himself at either end of the play.
Bungle, the best display and commitment for the team that I have seen you deliver since Sarum Knights were formed. More of the same. Excellent
Then there is the twin towers at the back . Difference is one like the Blackpool tower..rusty and looking a little dated whilst the other is like the Eiffel Tower, bringing class and sophistication. No matter, the combination at the back appears to be working effectively with only 1 goal let in across 1hour 20 minutes (thanks also to the midfield).
The difficulty is, that whilst we aren't letting in goals we aren't scoring many. Pull your finger out Shaggy....??....and pull your pants up ! I reckon they stop you sprinting sometimes. Joking aside, a great outlet and working tirelessly for the team
too much text. It didn't all print. Next installment later tonight (don't get excited Clive)
Continued....
Bazza, I'm sure you all agree he fills the goal much better than Tim !! Great save in the first half but not much else to do. Good communication at the back, always letting us know what's going on.
An excellent team performance. the communication is improving all the time. They were a good side, mobile and very fit. We restricted them to few chances and for that we all deserve credit. Patience was a virtue for as they pushed forward in the second half we hit them on the break. Great goal Shaggy.
The 2-2-1 seems to suit our style in this division. If we can take our chances we will be difficult to beat.
Onwards and upwards. keep in touch with yourselves and make sure you stay fit for Tuesday
Lombaldi
Nice report Lombaldi.
We are getting a bit lax on entering the match reports. I may have to start doing them all again myself, and we don't want that now, do we?
