Really good game against a young side with lots of energy. We started well right from the ko, creating a couple of decent chances in the first couple of minutes but their keeper blocked the efforts. George make a barnstorming run right from the back only to be denied by a good save. Chris H sent Alex though on goal who lobbed the keeper nicely to take us into a deserved lead. Ed marked his return from injury with a really good game, protected by George at the back. We kept pressing high and Chris M and Mike were mopping up everything in midfield to keep the pressure on them. After the break we nearly scored within seconds of the ko, with Chris M splitting the defence with a superb pass to Alex, who was denied by the keeper. We had a number of chances; Steve nearly beat the keeper at the near post, Mike had a couple of raking drives just wide, Chris H had a hard shot saved and hit the post but it was still only 1-0 and Ed had to make a couple more important stops, showing off with a spot of juggling at one point. We got some relief when Alex was played through and slotted into the goal neatly before seeing out the final few minutes.
