We played really well in the first half; crisp (Steve's word) passing and good movement allowed us to create chances and have the lion's share of posession. Their goalie as usual was very good and though we didn't have great openings we had a number of shots and they had few. Alex got the breakthough after about 10 minutes with a great individual effort, wriggling past the 3 players trying to tackle him to drive it hard and low past the keeper. Ashley was making great runs down the right wing, Chris providing support, Steve patrolling the middle and George sweeping.
The second half was not so great, they pushed up a bit and gained more intiative. Ed made some great saves and we had a few chances to extend the lead. We never looked like losing the lead but a second goal would have calmed some nerves.
