We cut it close this week. Two goals in the last three minutes of the game spared us the embarrassment of losing to the bottom team in the league. We controlled much of the game, but found it hard to find the final pass that created clear cut chances. Tuesday Knights played the defensive game, and relied on the counter attack to get their chances. It was early in the second half where they broke through and put a strong shot past Ed.

With five minutes to go it looked like we weren’t going to get anything from the game. Our countless attacks would were failing. Both Chris and Gary hit the post, and efforts from Alex, Steve and Ashley were all palmed away by their giant keeper.

It was some quick thinking from a corner that saw a square ball find Ashley on the edge of the box, who somehow squeezed it past the goal keeper. We continues with the pressure and looked for the win, and with two minutes to go, Alex found himself some space on the right and shot hard and low. 2-1.

We could have had a third, forth and fifth in the last two minutes, but it wasn’t to be.

A well deserved win for the Knights and a good effort by the opposition.
