We went 1-0 up; cracking goal again from Steve Pugh but they equalised before half time. We lost our shape a bit towards the end and they scored with 4 minutes to go.
Embelishing this further as a spectator:-
It was obvious from the start why they were top of the league. Fast. fit and for the most part skilful. Knights weren't overawed and were well organised with Ashley deputising at the back for his old man although he spend too much time stroking his whiskers!!
A great pass by Shaggy and a clever run behind the defence by Steve Pugh left them for dead and he finished with aplomb.
The expected onslaught came with Ed making some great saves to keep them at bay. They scored before half-time through a lapse in concentration but 1-1 was a fair result.
The 2nd half was more difficult for the Knights. Alderholts superior control and fitness meant they were in the ascedancy but Knights perservered. Their striker Baz ghosted into the middle as we were caught ball watching out on the left wing where we were drawn out of position. He ran through, drew Ed out of his goal and drilled the ball into Ed's bottom left hand corner.
The best team won and look odds on for the league although we do have a game in hand but now 5 points behind!
