Match Report

We struggled this week to find enough players which is always good when you are facing undoubtedly the best outfit in the league. The cat used all of his none to subtle bartering skills and refused to sign the order for his new conservatory until the salesman agreed for him and his brother in law to help out. Welcome then Lee and Ash to the squad.

Personality wise both Lee and Ash seemed to fit in better to the team then any of our other recent additions which was good to see. From kick off it was obvious that Shandyz were not going to be sitting back and they had a couple of early chances. Lee settled in at the back playing aside Steve, Ash playing midfield alongside Josh and Shags. Despite the new players there was some good linkng moves and we were able to keep some possesion in the middle of the pitch. It was obvious Ash had played at a good level before and some of the interchanges were great to watch. Unfortunately they managed to break down the wing and cut in and score midway through the first half with a neat finish in the far corner. They continued attacking through the first half but the cat managed to keep out anymore goals. Unfortunately this frenzied attacking soon had Lee blowing out of his a...! He had explained prior to the game that he had not played for a while.

Second half continued in much the same vain as the first but Ash had already said it would be better to push on and get back into the game rather than sitting back. Unfortunately in hindsight this was much the same tactic as the British army in world war 1 going over the top with a german machine gunner primed and ready at the top. 5-0 was a fair result.

Positives - 2 new decent players that are willing to turn out, but not every week due to work commitments, but lets start playing with a decent squad and sub.

Negatives - we need to learn when to stay in our trench.
