They were strong, fit, good footballers and a couple were fairly aggressive. We set out to close them down around our half and we succeeded in frustrating them for a lot of the first half. Our cause was hindered by loss of Steve Hillyer only about 5 minutes into the game with what looked like a dislocated shoulder.
They made a breakthrough late in the half and scored another just before the break.
In the second half we set up with a 2-3 formation and pressed harder which gave us more success. Barry made a couple of excellent stops and we had one or two chances. Midway Chris H robbed the defender and squeezed a shot into the goal. Shortly after Chris H had a glorious chance to equalise when their defender stumbled, but scuffed the shot. Right at the death George nearly equalised as his shot whizzed a couple of inches wide.
