We could have taken this game, but overall 1-1 was a reasonable reflection of the game. The first 5 minutes we were under the cosh, unable to get out of our half, though they didn't have a clear scoring opportunity. We defended solidly and Tim made some excellent stops. As we found our feet we started to play better and we had a few opportunities ourselves and midway through the half Chris M played in Alex who mazed past a couple of players to finish with his trademark chip past the keeper. 1-0 to the Knights. They then tried to up the tempo but we continued to threaten even though they had more posession.
In the second half they pressed still more which allowed Chis M and Alex to hit on the break supported by Ant. Gary, Chris and Steve N held firm at the back until a headed deflection found thir best player in space to slot past Tim. Ant did some excellent work, as did Chris M and Alex was constantly a threat. Tim made a couple of Hollywood saves when they shot from distance. We had a number of cleaner chances but their keeper was up to the task. Ant almost took the game right at the final whistle, but their keeper got down well to tip his goalbound shot round the post.
