Right then kids. If you thought George had bad grammar; you're In for a right treat today. (I even used word as a spell check).

We know quite a bit about Cheetahs, fast, skillful, work as a team and have a butt load of stamina. Our game plan was to sit 3 behind the ball at all times. We sported a new formation tonight, Ben 'the cheeky flick', leading the line, Alex sitting in the centre of the park, George 'Shaven Chin' Temple sweeping the midfield, and Gary and myself holding the back line. Barry also played.

The game started how we'd expected it to. Except it was them who were on the back foot. A dazzling run from centre by Alex saw their back line torn open like a........*explicit content*......and a well taken strike went just past the post. Most of the first 10 minuets was the same. We had them on the back foot. With some good movement, swift passes and clean strikes, we worked the goal keeper on three or four MAYBE FIVE!! occasions. The last 10 minuets of the half were a touch different. We lost our momentum. Our keeper throw outs were lazy, our touch was off, we didn't play the simple pass and they had us pinned in. Fortunately our tactics were paying off and all their efforts were forced and from a distance.

The second half saw a dramatic improvement. We got into our stride a bit more. We didn't rush it, easy passes were made, Gary’s favorite 'the recycle' showed up now and then, and some excellent football moves were created. Pick of the bunch saw an Inch perfect clipped pass down the line to Ben, who delicately touched it infield to Alex. His quick turn and pass saw ‘Shaven Chin’ Temple one on one with the keeper, and the outcome was inevitable. The game stretched towards the end; but the chances still came. I hit the bar, Ben worked the keeper and Alex undertook the token role of 'hands on knees, I'm going to vomit' (every team needs one).

The game ended with a WELL deserved draw, possible to say we should have won it. If you intend on giving me lip about my spelling etc. I’d take a look at Gary’s eye before you do.

Just a note towards the 'Get a new kit' fund. Im suggesting something a little less 'dress' and a little more 'check out my beer belly'. In other words fitted. Maybe blue and white quaters. http://www.brfcdirect.co.uk/prod5.asp?prod_id=331&id=290&grpid=331&msg=&offset=#prod_anchor Perfect.

What! No mention of my late save at the end of the game during my early snozzing session!!!

I have also noted that there are no red and white stripes in any league!!

Well at least those shirts should be cheap!

Cracking report Grommit - even drawn to making a comment

Team played really well as a unit and we need to use this as a starting point to move forward. On reflection I really think we played well enough to win, it could be argued that against one of the top teams in Div 1 we dropped 2 points rather than gained 1. In truth I came away feeling happily disapointed so mixed feelings. We can and will do better if we continue to play this way.

Communication, anticipation and simple passing are key. Our best football is played when we move the opposition around. Make quick easy passes even if it seems pointless & backward, keep control of the ball and force the opposition to react, they will loose shape and eventually tire. Well done all keep it up.

Sounds like a great performance - well done.  Top report, I'm not sure I feel qualified to do reports any more!

On the shirt front I'm with Barry - res and white stripes.

GCSE English I'll have you know

If we play with any red in our kit ....you can find another centre half, especially after Saturday!!
