As the weather changes and Alex and James become unavailable the question is will Sarum be able to demonstrate that class is permanent.

Match Report

Welcome to the new decade.

Forget global warming ...it was blizzard like. It is important though to differentiate between weather and climate; just as it is important to demarcate between form and class!

There is no doubt that on this performance we clearly have both but the question is can we do it without the help of James and Alex? Not that we should detract from what was an excellent result against a team low on confidence.

Although Sarum began in the ascendancy it was evident early on that JS Sports would be no push over as they committed to tackles and were tenacious all over the park.

A 1-3-1 formation allowed the smiling assassin, James, to dominate the midfield which in turn allowed players to find space in front and around him. James scored the first as he broke from deep but just as Sarum looked comfortable they broke wide on the right of Sarum's defence and the attcker cut in from a wide position and drilled the ball wide of Barry.

The game became a scrappy affair at times with all their players trying to kick James without much success and James kicking them with a great deal of success!!

Once we scored the next goal there looked only one winner with another goal from James and 2 well taken goals by Alex.

We had plenty of chances throughout the game but alas it was the "Nic" who showed everyone how to finish when he skilfully wrapped his toe around the ball as he forged forward. He must have got some duracell batteries inserted for Christmas as he manically persisted amongst a melee of legs before appearing on the other side to score. It's a pity Sunderland don't show the same tenacity nowadays!!

As the weather changes and Alex and James become unavailable the question is will Sarum be able to demonstrate that class is permanent.

Happy New Year Boys! Well done on an excellent result, lets hope you can keep it going for the rest of the season.  Take it easy, Steve.

Good result on a soggy night.
Priceless the sight of that little guy clinging onto James like a limpet while James just strolled on. Then, as the limpet fell off they turned and looked at eachother forgetting the ball for about 5 seconds before James carried on and drilled it in with the little guy still trying to kick him.
Steve - if you get shoes a couple of sizes bigger you could score more like that.
