We played well in the first half, going ahead early with a well-taken goal from Chris M. A chip through the centre fell perfectly to be lashed into the bottom corner. They were a skillful, fast team and had most of the posession, though not threatening much. They equalised with a slightly scuffed shot across the goal which was just enough to get past Clive. Steve N got clear and dragged a shot wide when he looked certain to score and Chris H shot just too high when put through by a great throughball from Steve P.
The second half saw the Knights under more pressure, though with Gary marshalling the back they had relatively few sights of goal. We had trouble getting out of our own half and keeping the ball, with Chris M double-marked most of the time. We were holding out at 1-1 until 5 minutes to go, when they played a nice infield ball through Steve P and Gary to leave their midfielder to come through and finish sweetly. We pressed upfield for an equaliser and got caught twice on the break with seconds to go. 4-1 flattered them, though they were the better team.
