We were a little lethargic today but managed to win the game after trailing for most of it. The first half started brightly enough; we created one or two decent chances, after which it became a little scrappy. Mistakes on both sides allowed shots on goal and both 'keepers made excellent saves to keep the score 0-0. On around 10 minutes they scored with a shot deflected to leave Barry with no chance.
The second half started in much the same way but Gary and Steve N at the back contained their tricky forwards. Chris H was brought off the bench midway into the half and smashed a throw-in from Steve N past their keeper to level. A little later Steve P did some great work to break through the middle but was fouled near the edge of the box. The ref played advantage and Chris H pounced on the loose ball, taking a touch before driving the ball into the top corner. We held on for the last few minutes in which time either side could have scored.
An important victory but not our most convincing performance.
