In the second half they pushed on looking for the equaliser, though we still had space at the back for Barry to throw out. Rob came on in the second half and added extra steel and poise to the midfield. Another couple of opportunities for Chris H went begging and one for Steve N. Late in the half Chris H finally made amends for the earlier profligacy with a peach of a shot curling into the top right corner to secure the points to take us above Chaseside on goal difference.

Match Report

'Twas a wet and windy eve when the Knights met the Wanderers...ok, I can't carry this on in Stuart Hall fashion so it'll have to be the usual guff.

We started brightly, creating a good chance in the first minute; Chris H was having an "Andy Cole" game (I'm sure you all know what I mean) and skewed a clear shot wide after turning clear of the last defender. It was a very open game and both sides had a number of opportunities before Chris M absolutely drilled a fizzing low shot across the keeper into the left corner. Steve N and Gary had to work hard to keep their attackers quiet which they succeeded in doing in every way except verbally. Steve P (as ever) was industrious in the middle and breaking down many of their moves early and Chris M was putting in tackles and driving forward when the opportunity arose. Both sides had more chances and Barry made a couple of good saves, tipping over good shots from range.
