In the first half we were definitely the better side, everyone working together to create space and moving the ball quickly. They are a very quick side but they were contained to a couple of pot shots from distance which Barry handled well. Rob was a great outlet and together with Chris H and Steve P opened their defence several times, though didn't test their keeper. Late in the half the Knights collected the ball deep in defence and a move involving every player in the team resulted in a one-two on the left between Chris H and Steve P leaving Chris to drive a low shot past the keeper to take us into half time with a fully deservered lead.
The bad news a half time was the Steve P had pulled a hamstring and had to come off and our plucky manager stepped in to fill the gap. Unfortunately the shape of the team disintegrated and they scored an early goal. From then on it was a case of trying to close the flood gates which we failed to do and ended up shipping 6 goals. The less said about the second half the better really.
We can take heart from the fact that we looked the better team and were in the lead while we had a full team.
