"/> "NO NOSE BLEEDS FOR KNIGHTS IN TOP DIVISION"
....no I'm not talking about Steve Nic !
On this display the Knights have nothing to fear in the top flight of 6-a-side football. Facing the winners of the league just 2 seasons ago, Sarum posted an impressive performance and were somwehat unlucky to lose a hard fought match.
The teams were evenly matched except for the fact that they were much younger, all still play 11-a-side football on Saturdays, have been in the top league since inception and they don't live in West Moors !
Knights weren't outplayed but perhaps at times were a little tentative with their passing, partly due to not having played for a while but most probably because Alderholt closed Sarum down quickly and looked dangerous on the break.
On saying this the defence stood firm and Gary & Steve got many blocks in, to stop the shots reaching Barry. As normal Bazzer made some good saves when required but was not troubled more than in many games last year.
Sarum had periods when they knocked the ball around well and there is no doubt that Alderholt's style allowed for a good skilfull game. There was however a slightly greater physical threat from Alderholt although the game was played in a good spirit.
Yet again, Sarum didn't look like scoring although Bubbles nearly scored towards the end after a lovely move from the back (not the shot that went for a throw-in).
On this showing Sarum should hold their own ( I do all the time !) but to progress need to demonstrate a little more urgency,be firmer in the tackle, spread the ball wide quickly and have more shots at goal. The communication was good and the consensus is that Sarum should have enough to comfortably retain their position with the big boys !!

Excellent report!
Challenging Stewart Hall for eloquence you should be on 5Live, or at least do the Sarum Knights reports more often.
For our first outing in D1 we can be proud of ourselves, I thought we matched what I’m told is one of the better teams in the league so have a good place to start and push on from. I felt the only telling difference between the teams was we didn’t pass and link as well as we can and I agree that in future we need to work on keeping width in order to create the angles and make as much space for ourselves as poss. As with any team stuff to improve but we need to fear no one and there’s much to be really positive about.
Last suggestions - we need to work on the presentation of our forward rolls! Longballdies finishing position is much to pretty for a footbal pitch and I agree with Bungle re the reports there should be a Blue Moon more often.
