Fash are a capable, young and energetic side. They were going all out for the win and really came at us from the first whistle. For the first 10 minutes we were being stretched at the back did well not to concede. As the half wore on we came more into the game and by the end of the first half it was a very even contest.
The 2nd half was more of the same. Both teams looking to get forward at every opportunity and it was a real end to end game with lots of chances for both sides. Sarum had the better of the chances but Fash tested Barry more than we tested their keeper.
The team performance was excellent. Barry had a great game, pulling off 3 or 4 fantastic saves, possibly his best performance this season. Sergeant Major Nield marshalled the rear guard superbly, why would you ever play that man anywhere else. The 2 fullbacks tried to find the balance between fulfilling their defensive duties and supporting the attacks which they probably achieved most of the time. Steve Pugh and Alex worked tirelessly to both shut them down and break away and attack at every opportunity. Alex made run after run, was found by Steve on numerous occasions and was very unlucky not to get on the score sheet.
It was about as exciting as 0-0 can get, a great game. Fash shaded the first half; Sarum the 2nd, a draw was a fair result.
Great crack in the pub (and curry). 4 games left, win them all we’re champions!

First great game against Fash! 100% commitment and concentration from all! you gave everything against a young fit fully committed side that really came after us and we took something from the game, well done and congratulations all round.
I am going to do man of the match this week cause he was stand out and glued it all together & Kirsteen’s started calling him Bald Knight so I better give him something back – Congratulations Gary
The bad news is that if we are to win the league and get to the final of the cup that is the level of concentration and commitment needed for every game. 6 wins and the double is on, every game now is to be played & enjoyed like a cup final and we must focus on and enjoy each one as it comes the others don’t matter. So the only game that matters now is Tuesday night against Cellar Bar Gothics.
